Distribution:

Described from coffee nurseries in Kenya and Tanzania. Also reported from other African countries and from India and Argentina (Subbotin et al., 2021)

Chromosome number 2n=21. Although this low diploid chromosome number might suggest amphimixis or meiotic parthenogenesis, Janssen et al. (2017) conclude that integrative taxonomy suggests reproduction is by obligate mitotic parthenogensis.
