Morphology and Anatomy:

.

  • Large to very large nematodes but slender, 5 to 12 mm long.
  • Labial region expanded and offset from the body contour.
  • Amphid apertures very wide
  • Odontostyle is long and slender
  • Stylet extension (odontophore) not flanged.
  • Guiding ring near anterior of odontostyle
  • Opening of amphids wide and slit-like .
  • 10-17 ventromedian supplements.with the most posterior being within one spicule length of the cloaca
  • Tail short, bluntly rounded
  • Among the longest plant-parasitic nematodes.

The genus Siddiqia is morphologically close to Paralongidorus and considered by some authorities to be part of the same genus.

It differs primarily with the expanded labial region, offset head region rather than a conrtionuous contour, and very wide amphid apertures'..
