Closely resembles P. tunisiensis but differs in having a broadly rounded tail, a rectum not ad-pressed, lateral epidermal pores and a longer genital tube in the male, and irregularly shaped spicules.

Described by Loof (1965) from soil around the roots of Anemone sp. in the Netherlands and France.
Efficiently transmits tobacco rattle virus
Ectoparasitic; feeds on epidermal cells at and just behind root tips.
Feeds by repeated thrusting of the onchiostyle within a polysaccharide feeding tube. Cell contents move along the groove along the dorsal side of the onchiostyle.
