Morphology and Anatomy:


 


  • Bisexual, females and males present

  • Length 0.6-0.71 mm

  • Stylet 17-18.5 µm

  • Ten prominent longitudinal cuticular ridgesindependent of lateral fields

  • Lateral fields in two elevated ridges separated by and incisure

  • Lip region set off from body contour with 6 or 7 striations

  • Females diovarial, amphidelphic

  • Males with bursa ending before tail tip, gubernaculum present.

Feeding:

Ectoparasite - browses on epidermal cells and root hairs, and may be attracted to zone of elongation.

All stages are parasitic.Feeding causes reduction of cytoplasmic streaming in epidermal cells.
