Morphology and Anatomy:

.


Female:

  • Body cylindrical
  • Cuticle with distinct annuli; lateral field with four incisures, forming three simple bands.  Deirids absent.
  • Cephalic region rounded at corners, 4-6 um high, 7-9 um wide, offset from body by constriction, with 5-6 striae; cephalic framework weakly sclerotised.
  • Stylet conus 50% ofstylet length and with posteriorly sloping basal knobs.
  • Dorsal gland orifice located about 1.8 um postarior to stylet knobs. Procorpus slender, median bulb ellipsoid, with prominent valve plates, isthmus narrower than procorpus, pharyngeal bulb saccate and offset from intestine. Cardia small.
  • Nerve ring at mid-isthmus level.
  • Secretoryexcretory pore at level of anterior of pharyngeal bulb
  •  Hemizonid located one annulus anterior to excretory pore.
  • Didelphic-amphidelphic, both branches equally developed.
  • Ovaries outstretched, oviduct slender, spermatheca spheroid, filled with spheroid sperm
  • Vulva in a caviity, with epiptygma.
  •  Phasmids conspicuous, located 8-11 annuli posterior to anus
  • Tail subcylindrical with 14-18 annuli; tip smooth. .

Male: 

  • Abundant
  • General morphology similat to female except tail shape.
  • No sexual dimorphism in anterior region. Spicules paired, slender, slightly ventrally curved.
  • Gubernaculum crescent shaped.
  • Bursa with finely crenate margin, reaching tail terminus
