Morphology and Anatomy:

Male:

  •  Reproductive system monorchic. Testis reflexed ventrally anteriorly.

  • Tail similar to female but posteriorly more slende, almost filiform.

  •  Bursa leptoderan, open anteriorly; nine pairs of genital papillae (1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 3), three pairs precloacal, the fourth not reaching bursa margin.

  • Spicules weakly curved ventrad: manubrium rounded.

  •  Gubernaculum slightly curved ventrad, with three dorsal tubercles, anteriormost two shorter and more prominent than posterior one.

Ref: Abolafia and Pena-Santiago, 2009

Female:

  • Stout body, cuticle with very fine transverse striations, practically smooth.
  • Lateral field occupying about one-tenth of mid-body diam.
  • Lip region offset by shallow constriction, about three times as wide as high. Six lips, rounded, with two pairs of thin setae on each.
  •  Stoma rhabditoid; cheilostom short, gymnostom slightly longer than cheilostom, with curved walls; stegostom more or less cylindrical, occupying ca two-thirds of stoma length; metastegostom bearing glottoid apparatus with minute teeth.
  • Esophageal corpus with cylindrical procorpus and metacorpus, barely differentiated; isthmus narrower than corpus. Basal bulb ovoid, with valves at its midpoint. Cardia hemispherical,/
  •  Excretory pore located at about 75% of neck length, at level of posterior portion of isthmus.
  •  Reproductive system didelphic-amphidelphic. Each ovary with a flexure.
  • Vagina ca twice as long as wide, with thin walls.
  • Vulva a transverse slit with lips slightly elevated.
  •  Rectum 0.5-1.1 anal body diam. long.
  • Tail anteriorly conoid, as long as broad; posterilut more slender, 33-40 um long, tapering gradually to an acute terminus.
  • Phasmid located at level of junction between two parts of tail.
