Morphology and Anatomy:

Male:

  •  Reproductive system monorchic. Testis reflexed ventrad anteriorly.
  • Tail with anterior section conical qnd posterior very slender to filiform.
  •  Bursa leptoderan, opened anteriorly, with nine pairs of genital papillae (1 + 2 precloacal and 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 postcloacal); bases of papillae 2-3 and 5-6 fused.
  • Spicules fused terminally, manubrium wider than long,
  • Gubernaculum with marked dorsal angle.

Female:

  • Cuticle with transverse and longitudinal striae forming small square marks.
  •  Lip region continuous with body contour.
  •  Lips rounded with thin setae.
  • Stoma rhabditoid. Cheilostom wide, gymnostom slightly wider than long, stegostom cylindrical; metastegostom bearing glottoid apparatus with minute teeth.
  • Esophangeal corpus with procorpus cylindrical and metacorpus swollen; procorpus 1.5 times longer than metacorpus.
  • Isthmus wide, tapering gradually from metacorpus to junction with basal bulb.
  • Basal bulb ovoid, with valves at its midpoint.
  • Cardia very small, conoid, surrounded by intestinal tissue.
  •  Excretory pore at 82% of neck length.
  •  Reproductive system didelphicamphidelphic. Each ovary with a flexure.
  • Oviduct slightly longer than corresponding body diam., distal portion  swollen and containing spermatozoa.
  • Uterus tubular, ca twice as long as body diam., also containing spermatozoa.
  •  Vagina with thin walls, extending inwards one-fourth to one-third of body diam.
  • Vulva somewhat elevated.
  • Tail very long, filiform. Phasmid situated at 14-15% of tail length.
