Type species of the genus:  Pelodera strongyloides Schneider, 1866

  Synonyms:

Rhabditis (Pelodera) 

Note: Pelodera  is often described as one of the 15 subgenera within the genus Rhabditis Dujardin (1845).

Pelodera is regarded as having two clades: the Coarctata clade and the Strongyloides clade.
