Morphology and Anatomy:

  • Body medium length (<1 mm).

  • Cuticle loosely attached, finely striated, striation ending at cloacal aperture level in male and at anus level in female.

  • Lateral fields not differentiated.

  • Lip region rounded, three lip sectors, inner edge of lips more heavily cuticularised, rounded.

  • Six tiny labial sensilla and four cephalic sensilla.

  • Buccal cavity wide, triangular cross section, longer than lip region diam.

  •  Cheilostom anisomorphic, in lateral view ventral wall longer than dorsal wall, ventrally segmented in posterior part.

  • Gymnostom anisomorphic joining cheilostom dorsally to produce an internally protuberant ridge.

  • Esophageal collar anisomorphic, dorsally enveloping dorsal ridge.

  • Amphids elliptical, about one lip region diam. posterior from anterior head.

  • Nerve ring at anterior end of isthmus.

  • Esophagus panagrolaimoid.

  • Secretory-excretory pore anterior to nerve ring and in posterior region of corpus.

  • Deirids slightly anterior to nerve ring. Hemizonid not observed.

Female:

  • Monodelphic, prodelphic, ovary antidromously reflexed and extending posterior to vulva.

  • Oocytes initially in multiple rows then in a single row.

  • Postvulval uterine sac present, about 1.5 abd long, mostly filled with sperm and functioning as a spermatheca.

  • Vulva opening at 55% of body length, lips slightly protruding with a funnel-like cuticular protrusion anterior to vulva and designated as "vulval sac".

  • Tail elongated thread-like, aboutseven anal body diam. long.

  • Phasmids difficult to discern, located ca one anal body diam. posterior to anus.

Male:

  • Monorchic, testis reflexed.
  •  Spicules and gubernaculum absent.
  • Seven pairs of genital papillae.
  • Cloacal aperture covered by a trapezoidal cloacal flap and with a single ventral papilla at its base
  • Bursa well developed, supported by promenent rays
