Morphology and Anatomy:

Longicyatholaimus maldivarum a: male body form; b: anphid fovea and cephaklic ornamentation; c:: buccal cavity; d:; lateral differentiation of cuticle in mid-body.  Scale bars: a = 50 um; b,c = 30 um; d = 10 um

Males:  

  • Diorchic; testes outstretched.
  •  Spicules not well cuticularized, 1 cbd long.
  • Gubernaculum paired, distal ends enlarged and denticulate
  • Precloacal supplements (8, small) present, each with a small seta protruding.

 

Females:

  •  Didelphic, amphidelphic, ovaries reflexed.

Collected from the Malidives at 0.5 to 0.9 m depth in medium-coarse sand.
