Classification:

Type species of the genus: Nygolaimellus abnormis Loos, 1949

Morphology and Anatomy:

• Large nematodes, body length 2.5-6.0 mm

• Labial region offset from body contour.

• Stoma a simple eversible tube with slightly sclerotized walls.

• Armed with a large, deltoid, spear-like mural tooth.

• Basal section of esophagus ±60% of esophagus length, separated into two parts by a constriction.

• Esophagus and intestine separated by a cardial disc.

• Female genital system diovarial, amphidelphic, vulva a transverse slit.

• Males without gubernaculum.

• Male with 5 to 8 ventomedian supplements.

• Tail similar in both sexes, usually short and conoid-rounded.
