Amphidorylaimus Andrassy, 1960

Type species of he genus: Amphidorylaimus infecundus (Cobb in Thorne & Swanger, 1936) Andrassy, 1960

Morphology and Anatomy:

  • Slender nematodes around 1 mm long.
  • Cuticle smooth or finely striated.
  • Head offsert, angular, lips separated.
  • Amphid apertures broad, funnel-shaped.
  • Odontostyle straight, about as long as lip width, aperture 1/3 of its length.
  • Guiding ring double, less than 1 lip width from anterior.
  • Esophagus expansion posterior to mid-point of its length.
  • Prerectum in both sexes 2- anal body diameters long.
  • Tail filiform in both sexes, abdout 20x anal body diameter.

Female:

  • Genital system amphidelphic.
  • Vulva longitudinal slit at 30-40% of body length.
 

Male:

  • Diorchic
  • Spicules simple, not doryl;imoid.
  • 1-2 precloacal ventromedian supplements.
