Pararhyssocolpus Elshishka, Lazarova, Radoslavov, Hristov & Peneva, 2015

Type species of the genus: Pararhyssocolpus paradoxus Elshishka, Lazarova, Radoslavov, Hristov & Peneva, 2015

Due to morphological and moecular differences from other geneea in the Nordiidae, Elshishka et al. (2015) proposed that Pararhyssocolpus be considered a member of a new family, Pararhyssocolpidae.

Morphology and Anatomy:

Body length 2-3 mm.
Cuticle dorylaimoid, finely transversally striated.
Lip region rounded, inner labial papillae distinct, not elevated, amalgamated and close to oral aperture, outer labial and cephalic papillae below the margin of oral field.
Odontostyle slender, shorter than or as long as labial diameter, with narrow aperture.
Odontophore simple. Guiding ring double.
Cylindrus about half esophageal length.
Tail similar in both sexes, conical, ventrally arcuate, distal part long, finger-like.

Female:

Didelphic-amphidelphic.
Uterus with pars refringens vaginae well developed,
Vulva transverse with irregularities and ruptures of body cuticle around vulva.

Male:

Spicules dorylaimoid, lateral guiding piece simple.
Numerous, contiguous ventromedian supplements.
