Stenodorylaimus Alvarez-Ortega & Pena-Santiago, 2011

Type species of the genus: Stenodorylaimus textilis (Thorne & Swanger, 1936) Alvarez-Ortega & Pena-Santiago, 2011

The genus was erected following examination of old materaial in the USDA Nematode Collection that was collected by Thorne and labelled variously as Pungentus and Dorylaimus.

Morphology and Anatomy:

Body length 3.7-5.1 mm; slender
Cuticle with fine striations
Lip region rounded, offset by a constriction
Odontostyle length about twice the lip region width, slender, with small aperture; guiding ring double
Odontophore rod-like, about same length as odontostyle
Rounded conoid tail, dorsally convex

Female:

Didelphic-amphidelphic, both branches equally developed
Vulva a transverse slit

Male:

Diorchic, testes opposed
Spicules dorylaimoid
Ventromedian supplements 14-19, irregularly spaced
