Type species of the genus: Kochinema proamphidium Heyns, 1963

Morphology and Anatomy:

• Small to medium size.
• Labial region expanded and offset from body contour; lips separated.
• Amphids on lateral lips (an unusual feature for nematodes in the Dorylaimida which usually have postlabial amphids)..
• Odontostyle very slender with rod-like odontophore.
• Tail short, conoid.
