Nevadanema nevadense Alvarez-Ortega & Pena-Santiago, 2012

N. nevadense is the type-species of the genus.

Originally described in Qudsianematidae and later transferred to Dorylaimidae, sub family Labronematinae.

Morphology and Anatomy:

.

Female:
  • Genital system didelphic-amphidelphic, both branches equally well developed.
  •  Ovaries usually large, often extending beyond sphincter level.
  • Oocytes arranged first in two or more rows, then in a single row.
  • Oviduct 1.4-2.4 times corresponding body diam.,
  • Oviduct-uterus junction surrounded by a sphincter. Uterus a simple tube 1.1-1.8 times the corresponding body diam.
  • Vagina extending inwards 334-56% of body diam., pars proximalis with somewhat sigmoid walls and surrounded by weak musculature, pars refringens with two distinct, triangular pieces separated by a less refractive intermediate area,  pars distalis short.
  •  Vulva a very short, almost equatorial, longitudinal slit, opening partially covered by two lateral flaps.
Males:  Unknown - but sperm observed in uteri of a few female specimens.

Described from Sierra Nevada National Park in Andalucia, Spain.
