Classification:

Type species of the genus: Heynsaxonchium dolichodorum Coomans & Nair, 1975

Morphology and Anatomy:

• Body large, length 2.8-3.1 mm
• Lip region offset from body contour; lips low
• Odontostyle long and thin, length is twice the body width at the head; aperture very small.
• Two parts of esophagus separated by an isthmus-like portion.
• Muscle bundles of esophagus sheath spiralling to the right.
• Tail hemicpherical.
• The genus is distinguished by the isthmus-like portion of the esophagus and the long odontotyle.

Female:

• Monodelphic, opisthodelphic
• Vulva transverse

Male:

• Stout spicules
• 11 ventromedian supplements
