Classification:

Enoplea
                        Aporcelaimidae

Aporcelinus (Cobb, 1893) Andrassy, 2009

Andrassy, 2009 described the genus and transferred several species from different genera and families
The type species of the genus: Aporcelinus diadematus (Cobb in Thorne & Swanger, 1936 Andrassy, 2009  (Andrassy, 2009b; Pena-Santiago and Abolafia, 2016; Pena-Santiago et al., 2019, Pena-Santiago, 2021).

Synonyms of the type species (per Pena-Santiago et al., 2019):

Dorylaimus diadematus Cobb in Thorne & Swanger, 1936

= Eudorylaimus diadematus (Cobb in Thorne & Swanger, 1936) Andrassy, 1959

= Allodorylaimus diadematus (Cobb in Thorne& Swanger, 1936) Andrassy, 1986

= Dorylaimus cinctus Cobb in Thorne & Swanger, 1936

= Eudorylaimus cinctus (Cobb in Thorne & Swanger, 1936) Andrassy, 1959

Morphology and Anatomy:

General: Per Pena-Santiago and Varela-Benavides (2018) The monophyly of Aporcelinus is confirmed on the basis of a definite and recognizable morphological pattern and a highly supported clade obtained by molecular genetic analysis.  However, there is some doubt regarding the classification of Aporcelinus under Aporcelaimidae, as originally proposed, because molecular genetic analysis shows a tentative closer (but not highly supported) relationship with Allodorylaimus, a member of the family Qudsianematidae

.

Female:

  • Didelphic, amphidelphic
  • Vulva a transverse slit

  • Ref: Pena-Santiago et al., 2019

Males:

  • Spicules typical dorylaimid.
  • Ventromedian supplements 5-16 in number, (variably) spaced and lacking hiatus.

Distribution:

The genus is widely distributed found in soils and freshwater sediments of world-wide except for Australia, New Zealand or Antarctica, with diversity apparently greater in tropical regions (Varela-Benavides and Pena-Santiago, 2018).  Considered well-represented in natural and culivated areas of Vietnam (Nguyen et al., 2017).
