Type species of the genus: Aculonchus argutus Siddiqi, 1982

Morphology and Anatomy:

• Body small, < 1mm.
• Cuticle with radial elements .
• Lip region smoothly rounded, knob-like, offset from bodycontour by a deep constriction; papillae not raised and perioral disc absent.
• Sclerotized stoma narrow, inverted globlet-shaped, widening within lip region, less than lip region-width long.
• Odontostyle solid, needle-like.
• Odontophore almost straight, with flanged base.
• Slender portion of esophagus with inconspicuous lining of the lumen; basal bulb pyriform, anteriorly tapering, with elongate cuticular valve-like thickening in its posterior half.
• Tail short, conoid-rounded.
