Meylis multipapillatus (Meyl, 1956) Goseco, Ferris & Ferris, 1974.

Morphology and Anatomy:

Body length 1.22-1.92 mm; the smaller size is a distinguishing feature from M. dicephalus
Head offset, Inner lips fused forming a disc-like projection.
Outer layer of cuticle with fine transverse striations.
Body pores in two rows , somewhat obscured
Esophageal bulb large, cylindroid, separated from anterior portion by a constriction.
Cardia large, distinct.
Tail rounded to bluntly conoid.

	Female: Didelphic, amphidelphic. Vulva transverse. Ovaries symmetrical. reflexed at about 40% of length. Ref:: Peralta and Pena-Santiago (1996); Goseco et al. (1974)
Males: Diorchic, testes outstretched. 13 closely-spaced ventro-median supplements. Tail more bluntly conoid than that of female.

Distribution:

Described by Meyl (1956) from moist sandy soil at Recife-Piedade, Brazil (Goseco et al., 1974).

Feeding:

Family Leptonchidae classified as hyphal feeding; exact feeding habits of Meylis spp. unknown (Yeates et al., 1993)
