Distribution:

 This is the fifth nominal species of the subgenus Spirocamallanus Olsen, 1952 of the genus Procamallanus reported from fishes in New Caledonian waters.

Type host: Silver grunt Pomadasys argenteus (Perciformes: Haemulidae). An Indo-Pacific tropical marine fish targeted by commercial fisheries.
