Morphology and Anatomy:

• Cephalic end with two median teeth (one dorsal and one ventral)
•  6 small pore-like structures (2 subdorsal, 2 subventral and 2 lateral) and small pointed denticles surrounding the oral aperture
• Spiral ridges occupying less than 2/3 of the wall of the buccal capsule
•  Three circles each with 4 cephalic papillae

Males:

• 10 pairs of subventral and sessile caudal papillae (4 pairs pre and 6 pairs prostcloacal)

Females:

•  Phasmids present
• Females without distinct terminal appendix on the tail

Procamallanus inopinatus specimens commonly occur in freshwater fish in Brazil and other South American countries (Ailan-Chokee et al., 2020
