Morphology and Anatomy:

Males:  

  • Ventral precloacal surface with pairs of oblique muscle bands.
  • Precloacal sucker absent;.
  • Spicules eof equal length, broad.
  • Gubernaculum well developed.
  • Numerous paired pre-anal, adanal and postanal papillae.
  • Caudal alae absent.

Females:

  • Didelphic, amphidelphic.
  • Vulva postequatorial.
  • Numerous oval thin-walled eggs.

Distribution:

Dentinema trichomycteri specimens were collected as nematode parasites  from the stomachs and intestines of catfishes (Trichomycterus spp). from streams in Colombia (Moravec et al., 2004).
