Food Sources and Feeding strategies for the genus Trichosomoides
Trichosomoides crassicauda is transmitted in rats by direct ingestion of larvated eggs in urine or contaminated environments.
Infection rates in some enclosed facilities may become highly infected with T. crassicauda.
The pathogenicity of T. crassicauda.in the urinary bladder wall of infected rats is relatively low, even when the anterior part of the worms is embedded in the bladder urothelium, causing a mild, flat, hyperplastic response (Tamaru et al., 2025).
