Paramacropostrongylus Johnston & Mawson, 1940
Type species of the genus Paramacropostrongylus typicus Johnston & Mawson, 1940
Synonyms:
Paramacropostrongylus differs from Macropostrongyloides principally in the absence of four large teeth on the walls of the buccal capsule. Also, the external knob present on the dorsal wall of the buccal capsule in Macropostrongyloides is absent in Paramacropstrongylus. The arrangement of the duct of the dorsal esophageal gland is similar in both genera and both taxa have denticles around ythe opening of the buccal capsule (Beveridge and Mawson, 1978).,
