Morphology and Anatomy:

Distinction between Thelastoma and Schwenkiella: Those species originally in Thelastoma with excretory pore posterior to esophageal bulb were transafeed to Scwnckiella (Basir, 1956; Kumar et al., 2010).

  • tail long, filiform
  • didelphic-amphidelphic

Males:

  • muchn smaller than female
  • tail conoid
  • single spicule
  • 2 pairs ccaudal papillae; single median caudal papilla

Distribution:

Feeding:

A genus of intestinal parasites of cockroaches, esp. Periplaneta americana. Females, males, and juveniles found in hind gut of cockroaches.
