    Morphology and Anatomy:

    Female:

    •  Body usually stout, robust.
    • Mouth with 3 lips.
    • Tail short and conical or long and pointed;
    • Didelphic
    • Vulva posterior to middle of body. Uteri parallel.
    • Oviparous, rarely viviparous. Eggs segmented at deposition.

    Male:

    •  Body slender or relatively slender.
    • Mouth with 3 or 6 lips.
    • Caudal end truncate, situated ventrally near cloaca, ending in short, dorsal, conical, hyaline spine or not.
    • Caudal papillae 3 pairs: 2 circum-cloacal pairs (1 pair pre-anal rosette-shaped, rosette-shaped with posterior expansion, or elongated; and 1 pair post-anal rosette-shaped or elongated); 1 rosette-shaped pair at or close to tip of tail.
    • Lateral alae absent;
    • Caudal alae tiny or absent.
    • Spicule short, of varying shape. Gubernaculum V-, enlarged U- or crescent-shaped.
