Morphology and Anatomy:

  • Buccal capsule vestigial
  • Mouth opening with two large lateral trilobed lips
  • Female with vulva in posterior region of body; oviparous; eggs with thick shells with sculptured surface
  • Male bursa with large lateral lobes and reduced dorsal lobe
   

Biology and Life Cycle:

Eggs rather than first-stage larvae are passed in feces; earthworms are intermediate hosts (Anderson 2000)
