Cuticle strongly striated.
Stoma either collapsed or globular.
Dorsal gland and two of the subventral glands open in anterior esophagus.
When stoma has a dorsal tooth, dorsal gland may open through it.
Amphid opening porelike or oval.
Esophagus muscular, cylindrical; esophago-intestinal valve well developed often with denticulated pads.
Males with preanal supplements
Caudal glands and spinneret generally present.
Primarily found in freshwater and moist soils, some marine and brackish water forms.
Feed on small microfauna including nematodes.
