Described from galls on Nigerwood (Guizotia abyssinica), a tropical herb grown for oilseed, collected in Ethiopia.

Induces galls that are oval to round with flattened bases. Distinguished by Steiner as being different from another Anguina described from Australia, A. microlaenae, by the different-shaped galls.
