Morphology and Anatomy:

  • Rather small nematodes usually curved ventrally
  • Cuticle with fine striations
  • Lateral field with 4-6 lines
  • Head framework weak
  • Amphid openings oblique slits
  • Stylet weak, cone about half the length of the shaft; shaft withbasal flanges
  • Median bulb wekaly developed; metacorpus valve inconspicuous or absent
  • Posterior bulb butting intestine or partly surrounded by intestine

Female:

  • Monodelphic, prodelphic, gonad outstretched
  • Spermatheca usually offset
  • Postuterine sac very short

Male:

  • Mmonorchic
  • Spicules and Gunnernaculum slifghtly curved
  • Bursa weakly developed
