Moderate-sized; very slender nematodes,
Cephalic region bluntly rounded, not offset from body contour; small pore-like amphid apertures
Cuticle appears smooth but actually is finely striated.
Lateral field with 4 incisures where visible.
Stylet small, with rounded knobs
Procorpus of esophagus long and slender, metacorpus thin and elongate, without obvious valvlular apparatus; postcorpus an elngate bulb not overlaspping intestine.
Females monodelphic, prodelphic; anterior lip of vulva extending posteriorly as a flap covering openinmg; spermatheca elongate, filled with sperm.
Males with elongate, posteriorly-directed caudal alae.
Tail narrows markedly after anal or cloacal opening; tail very long, filiform.

Key to the Family Tylenchidae
Originally described from The Netherlands, also reported from Belgium and Poland (Geraert, 2008).
Root associates - feeding uncertain, either ectoparasites of root epidermis and root hair cells and/or hyphal feeding (Yeates et al., 1993).
Based on presence of males and sperm in spermatheca, assumed to be sexually reproducing.
