Procorpus is cylindrical, metacorpus muscular and rounded to slightly oval-shaped with cuticularized valve plates; nerve ring encircles median part of isthmus; excretory pore posterior with hemizonid two annuli anterior to excretory pore. Pharyngeal glands overlap intestine ventrally.
Molecular analysis indicates that P. dakotaensis differs from morphologically-similar species including P. convallariae, P. pratensis, P. fallax, and P. flakkensis.
