Distribution:

Distributed worldwide.

Economic Importance:

Intestinal parasites of humans and of herbivorus domestic and wild animals (Ghasemikhah et al., 2011; Nagaty, 1931).

The genus Trichostrongylus includes parasitic nematodes with a direct life cycle that infect cattle, sheep, goats, and other wild ruminants (deer, antelope, camels, zebras, etc.) worldwide. They also infect pigs, horses, and poultry.

Two species, T. axei and T. colubriformis, are major ruminant parasites of veterinary importance (Snyder et al., 2020).
