Morphology and Anatomy:

The genus resembles Geocenamus because of the set-off lip region with a labial disc, weakly developed cephalic framework and long thin stylet. The four lateral incisures, structure of the spicules, protruding gubernaculum and lack of hypotygma are similar to Tylenchorhynchus.  Because he considered differences from Geocenamus and Tylenchorhynchus, Sher (1974) established the new genaus.

.

  • Body large-sized (1.7 mm in the type species).
  • Labial region offset from body contour, labial framework weak, divided into 6 sectors in SEM face view, lateral sectors slightly smaller than submedians.
  • Amphid apertures elongate
  • Lateral field with 4 incisures, outer bands incompletely areolated.
  • Stylet thin, long (37 um in the type species).
  • Postcorpus glands abutting intestine.
  • Deirids absent.

    Female:
  • Didelphic, amphidelphic
  • Tail subcylindrical with smooth terminus

Males:

  • Spicules with flanges.
  • Gubernaculum slightly protruding from cloaca.
  • Caudal alae enveloping tail
