Synonyms:
   

 In Histotylenchus the basal bulb of the esophagus has the dorsal gland overlapping the intestine as in Telotylenchus but not in Paratrophurus (Castillo et al., 1989).

Morphology and Anatomy:

.

  • Lip region either continuous with body contour or offset
  • Stylet of medium lemgth; conus with an angular lumen
  • Lateral field with 4 incisures, usually areolated
  • Metacorpus valve large
  • Postcorpus of esophagus with glands overlapping intestine
  • Intestine with caudal sac extending into tail

Female:

  • Didelphic, amphidelphic; ovaries outstretched and about equal in length
  • Female tail short, cylindroid, rounded with striated terminus
