Morphology and Anatomy:

.

  • Body slender, cuticle with fine annulation.
  • Lateral field with four incisures.
  • Lip region rounded, slightly offset, with clear annulation, about twice as wide as high.
  • Six equally sized and fused lips with outer cephalic radial ridges.
  • Oral aperture rounded, surrounded by six inner labial sensilla. Outer labial sensilla obscure, hexagon-shaped.
  • Amphidial apertures oval, positioned dorso-laterally on edges of non-annulated sectors of lip region,
  • Four cephalic papillae at same level as amphidial openings.
  • Stylet 10.2-11.0 um long with small basal swellings, conus ca 40% of its total length.
  • Procorpus cylindrical, ca 3.5 body diam. long. Metacorpus strongly developed, oval to spherical, with central valve.
  • DPGO into lumen of metacorpus.
  •  Pharyngo-intestinal junction immediately posterior to base of metacorpus.
  • Pharyngeal gland lobe slender, ca 4-5 body diam. long, overlapping intestine dorsally.
  • Excretory pore located at level of, or anterior to, nerve ring.

Female:

  • General morphology similar to male.
  • Monodelphic, prodelphic.
  • Ovary  outstretched, witj oocytes  in 1-2 rows,
  • Oviduct short, spermatheca 3-4 body diam. long, axial and squarish to oblong-shaped, filled with rounded sperm cells.
  • Crustaformeria constructed of relatively large rounded cells.
  • Uterus thick walled. Vagina slightly inclined anteriorly, surrounded by refringent muscular bundles.
  • Vulva f a traverse slit without vulval flap .
  •  Post-vulval uterine sac 4-5 vulval body diam. long, extending  25-40% of vulva to anus distance, sometimes filled with sperm.
  • Anus distinct.
  • Tail conoid, 3-5 anal body diam. long,, slightly ventrally curved, tip similar to that of male.

Male:

  • Monorchic, testis on left side of intestine, outstretched, with spermatocytes in single file.
  •  Cloacal lips slightly protruding.
  • Spicules paired.
  • Three pairs of subventral papillae: first pair slightly anterior to cloacal opening, second pair at mid-tail; and third pair at base of tail terminus.
  • Tail conoid, ventrally curved with a single stalk-like terminus and 4-8 pedunculate projections.
  • Bursa absent

Distribution:

Originally described by Massey (1966). Redescribed with additional detail by Fang et al (2020) from specimens intercepted in wood of Picea glauca imported from Canada into China.

Also reported from France by Baujard (1981).
