Distribution:

Described from bark of Callitris preissii, native pine in Australia.

Feeding:

Laimaphelenchus preissii was found in the bark of native pine C. preissii, but not in the wood. It appeared to be feeding on fungi or lichens growing on the bark of the tree.

It was cultured successfully on Botrytis cinereaMonilinia fructicola and Rhizoctonia solani with the best growth occurred on B. cinerea.

No insects appeared to be associated with it on the host pine trees.
