Morphology and Anatomy:

Coomansinemoides is similar to   Mesodorylaimus, but has a larger stylet aperture, double guiding ring, smaller expanded part of pharynx, and by the second pair of pharyngeal gland nuclei, typical of the subfamily Thornenematinae.

  • Medium sized nematode (0.8-1.1 mm long). .
  • Cuticle thick at anterior portion and on tail with very fine transverse striations.
  • Lip region amalgamated, truncate, almost continuous or slightly set off by minute depression from body, with slight to moderate sclerotisation.
  • Amphids stirrup-shaped.
  • Odontostyle straight, moderately developed, not massive or wide, thickened dorsally and at tip, aperture distinct, more than one-third of the odontostyle length.
  • Guiding ring ‘double’.
  • Odontophore rod-like
  • Expanded portion of pharynx 38-42% of pharynx length..
  • Dorsal pharyngeal gland nucleus very prominent, near the beginning of cylindrus; cardia conoid to rounded.
  • Tail shape dissimilar in female and male.

Male:

  • Dorylaimoid spicules.
  • Supplements consist of 10–13 ventromedians arranged in a regularly spaced series and an adanal pair.posterior
  • Tail of males strongly ventrally curved, short, convex-conoid, with rounded terminus..

Female:

  • Didelphic, Aphidelphic, both genital branches well developed and functional.
  • Vulva transverse. Vagina with moderate distal sclerotisation
  • Tail short, convex-conoid ending in a straight, abruptly narrow, finely rounded spike-like terminus
