Type species of the genus: Microdorylaimus parvus (de Man, 1880) Andrassy, 1986

Morphology and Anatomy:

Small nematodes, 0.3-0.9mm.
Cuticle smooth.
Labial region offset.
Odontostyle length about equal to labial diameter; guiding ring simple.
Esophagus long, about 1/3 of body length.
Female genital system di0varial, amphidelphic, vulva a transverse slit., ovaries short.
Males very rare; dorylaimoid spicules; few ventromedian supplements (3 to 8).
Tail similar in both sexes, conoid, straight or ventrally arcuate, 1-3 x anal body diameter.
