Morphology and Anatomy:

    
  • Body length 0.9-1.8 mm
  • Cuticle smooth,
  • Labial region offset
  • Odontostyle length about same as  labial diameter.
  • Tailshort, rounded with subdigitste tip

Female:

  • Females diovarial, amphidelphic
  • Vulva sclerotized

Male:

  • Numerous (15-27) closely-spaced , non-contiguous

Talanema spp differ from Labronema by having a transverse vulva, from Crassolabium by the greater number of supplements and the subdigitate tail.

Distribution:

Soil dwelling nematodes; species reported from Asia, Africa Europe and the Americas.
