Morphology and Anatomy:

Nematodes in the genus Brittonema (and in the subfamily Brittonematinae of the Actinolaimidae) are cosidered to have a triprtite esophagus which consists of a very long (nonmuscular) section, a short, more msucular, middle section that tapers into an enlarged posterior region (Commans and Loof, 1986)..
