Morphology and Anatomy:

.

  • Body long and slender, curved or coiled when fixed
  • Width 60 - 68 um (female) or 50 um (male)  at middle.
  • Cuticle 3.5 -4.0 um thick on mid-body.
  • Longitudinal ridges 30 - 32 clearly visible in most regions of body
  • Lip region 12 -14 um wide and 8 - 9 um high, slightly offset by a  depression; lips fused.
  • Labial and cephalic sensillae minute.
  • Amphids funnel-shaped with aperture about two-thirds of corresponding body diameter.
  • Vestibular ring weak, 4.5 - 5.0 um wide; vestibulum 5 - 6 um broad; onchia with tips facing each other.
  • Odontostyle slender, thinner (1.5 um) than cuticle (2 um) at the same level, 23 - 25 um long, 1.8 - 1.9 times as long as lip region width. Aperture occupying about one-fifth of odontostyle length.
  • Pharynx 580 - 620 um long, enlarged in two steps, at 44 - 48 and 52 -  55 % of its length, respectively; anterior section tubular, non-muscular, mid-section 38 - 42 um long.
  • Cardia short, rounded, glossa absent.

Female:

  • Posterior end of pharynx and vulva as long as or somewhat longer (1.2 times) than pharynx.
  • Prerectum 6-8, rectum 1.6-2.0 times the anal body width long.
  • Didelphic, well-developed. Each gonad branch 5.8-7.0 times as long as body diameter, occupying 12-14 % of body length.
  • Vulva longitudinal, with slightly sclerotized lips, 16-18 um wide.
  • Vagina 30 - 35 um long, penetrating halfway in ody width.
  • Uterine eggs one to four at a time,
  •  Vulva - anus distance equals 8.8-9.2 tail lengths.
  • Tail elongate-conoid, 145-164 um long or occupying 5.1-5.6 % of entire length of body. Tip of tail pointed or very finely rounded.
.

Males:

  • Paired testes, long vas deferens.
  • Spicules slender, arcuate, 60 um long.
  • Supplements: a large adanal pair and 14-18 ventromedian supplements arranged in two fascicles
  • Male tail short, dorsally conoid, rounded.
