Morphology and Anatomy:

  • Body length 1-2 mm.
  • Body more or less ventrally curved when fixed.
  • Lip region conoid-truncate, continuous or offset by a depression; or rounded, somewhat expanded and offset by a constriction.
  • Labial framework sclerotized; postlabial sclerotization mostly present.
  • Odontostyle cylindroid, aperture 1/4-1/3 of its length.
  • Tail long, tapering to an acute or subacute terminus, similar in both sexes.

  • Males with dorylaimid genital system, supplements consisting of an adanal pair and a series of widely spaced medioventral supplements.
  • Spicules stout, ventrally arcuate. Lateral guiding pieces well developed.

In morphological characteristics, Sicaguttur is similar to Indodorylaimus Ali & Prabha, 1974 butdiffers in having a didelphic reproductive system. Sicaguttur also has similar characteristics to Thornenema but differs in having similarly long tails in both sexes.
