Nygolaimium Thorne, 1930

Type species of the genus: Nygolaimium denticulatum (Cobb, 1922) Heyns, 1968

Refer to the subfamily Sectonematinae for a discussion of the placement of this family in the Aporcelaimidae rather than the Nygolaimidae.

Morphology and Anatomy:

 

Nygolaimium strongly resembles Scapidens but is distinguished by the denticle region of the stoma and presence of a cardia disk (Andrassy, 2009).

.

Female:  
Vulva unsclerotized or only slightly sclerotized.
Diovarial, amphidelpphic; ovaries short.
